Often in production, animators can't start animating until there is a rig. Riggers can't start building the rigs until the model is ready.
But what if animators could start working on a character before the model is even started?
Another production problem is models can be extremely detailed with high polygon counts which means animators are struggling and constantly playblasting these heavy rigs.
And sometimes, issues with the proportions of a character are only apparent after the model and rig are complete, and animation has begun.
To help ease all these issues, RRM 3 is now equipped with "Rapid Mesh" that is optional for every rig you build. This mesh can be customized to fit an existing character, modified to test different silhouettes and different proportions. The simple cubes and spheres make for a light model that will have your animators' framerates staying high so constantly playblasting is less likely
WARNING: For any arachnophobes out there, you may want to stop at 2:30 in the video.
This is a relatively new feature, so more options, settings and functionality to come! I look forward to any feedback people have while using the new "Rapid Mesh" feature.
