I'm looking for documentation or, otherwise, a better understanding of how to make the Spline module act as FK, maybe I just use the FK module instead?
Specifically, I have a spline module and would like it to follow its parent in both orient and position, I think I have located these attributes. But I would like the spline controls to function as FK and am hoping that the joint chain will only rotate upstream in the hierarchy.
I'm a little confused on the Mid_IK_Ctrl functionality, it seems that when I set "Mid Orient" to 1, the Spline module does well to inherit the parent module's position and orientation but then, this means my spline's individual controller rotations are not isolated to a single controller, instead, the neighborhing spline CV's share some of the movement...
Maybe I'm using too many words to describe this, if I want the spline module to inherit the parent's movement, is it necessary to key "Mid Orient" to 1, and key to 0 when I want the joint chain to act as a FK upstream rotator? But then what if I want both at once?
I think I know what you are saying, and with that, I think what you are looking for is the "followFKCtrl" attribute, found on the spline's Top_IK_Ctrl. With this set to 1, the joints will precisely follow the FK controls and the Mid_IK_Ctrl will have no influence on the joints while "followFKCtrl" is at 1.
